About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking an Assembly Technician I - 1st Shift at 415 Puckett Ferry Road in Greenwood, SC. The core hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm. The rate for this position is $18.11 per hour. This position is eligible for a variable incentive program. The Assembler is responsible for meeting daily production goals while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. This role assembles Low Voltage Assemblies and performs all required production activities, including material allocation and retrieval, raw material preparation, assembly, electrical testing, quality inspections, and preparation of finished products for shipment or storage. The Assembler works collaboratively within a team environment and must be able to flex across all areas of the assembly operation as needed, including Lean Line processes (can preparation, taping, bridge joint assembly, printing paperwork and labels, brush testing, final testing, and assembly), as well as Flex Line and PowerWave2 assembly operations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
Minimum of 3 months of experience using hand and air tools
Proven problem-solving skills.
Collaborate with team members.
Being flexible and open to changes in processes or tasks.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workplace. (5S+)
Able to work independently with minimum direction.
Ability to stand for long periods with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs and push or pull up to 100 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Use various fixtures, gauges, and assembly tools to assemble, adjust or repair assemblies.
Use of layout, drill, saw, punch, rivet, caulk and paint material as required.
Apply identification labeling on completed assemblies as required.
Retrieve and deliver materials to the assembly line as needed to initiate the assembly process.
Prepare assemblies for shipment or storage, as appropriate during the final assembly process.
Comply with all safety policies/procedures and WSRA’s.
Follow standard operating procedures and method sheets.
Read and comprehend electrical and mechanical drawings.
Comply with written or oral instruction from supervisor.
Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembling.
Perform quality checks to ensure finished products meet specifications.
Flex to other areas as needed or perform tasks in other positions as needed.
