About The Position

This position is a supervisory role for assembly operations in Chandler, with direct reports of approximately 15 employees. The position reports to the Assembly Manager. The position will be responsible for monitoring and implementing the daily assembly production plan; training, coaching and developing assembly personnel; trouble-shooting assembly problems and defects; and upholding company safety.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years prior team lead/supervisory experience.
  • Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong initiative and willingness to create positive change.
  • Ability to manage conflict.
  • Possesses ability to communicate with engineers, production support, and buyer/planners.
  • Intermediate computer skills; Microsoft Office family and other database software.
  • Strong ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Stand or sit for long periods of time

Nice To Haves

  • Electronics manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the activities of assembly and fabricating operations to meet cost, quality, delivery, productivity and other key performance measures.
  • Direct the activities of operators, and other support personnel.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, coaching and training staff; process improvements; scheduling and resource allocation; budget management; customer relations; health and safety; and development and maintenance of positive employee relations.
  • Provide direct supervision to assemblers, team leads, testers, and technicians encompassing areas such as; assembly, inspection, test, repair, and troubleshooting activities. Communicate to all employees on a daily basis during tier meeting and throughout the shift.
  • Supervise direct reporting personnel within section and provide supportive mentoring to coach, develop, and motivate. Develop monthly reports and track metrics to meet stated goals.
  • Interview prospective employees and recommend hires, communicate and ensure adherence to company policies, adhere to equal employment opportunity policies and guidelines, provide uniform discipline and resolve complaints/problems consistently.
  • Ensure timely completion of work orders and/or sales order shipment of product through planning, scheduling and assigning jobs to staff.
  • Interface with departments outside the group to mutually resolve or prevent production delays. Identify critical material shortages or errors, expediting solutions from other Production, Material, and Engineering departments.
  • Participate in new product assembly and test process refinements, considering the manufacturability and testability of produce.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations on production floor. Solicit feedback from employees on safety observations, develop corrective action, and track to completion. Hold regularly scheduled meetings to address safety issues relevant to manufacturing operations.
