About The Position

The Process Engineering role is the heart of industrial design, focusing on the method of manufacturing goods with an emphasis on ergonomics, efficiency, productivity, manning, manufacturing for assembly, and process error proofing. You will be responsible for the following duties Lead productivity and efficiency workshops on existing lines to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining the quality required. Focus on reducing cycle time and scrap percentage to become best in class. Participate with the P1 design teams for new launches to aid in design for manufacturability within production environment constraints. Create and manage work instructions and applicable PFMEAs. Learn and launch new assembly lines and new products in the automotive lighting industry. Become an expert on the process of your assigned assembly lines in which you can help lead and pilot improvement opportunities. Lead in the application of advanced quality measures to ensure robust product design and processes to give the customer “first time right” parts. Support with vendors for new equipment. Most important: a strong drive for success with a “customer first” mindset.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or another Engineering discipline
  • 2+ years relevant experience
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment and ergonomics.
  • Strong understanding of cycle time, machine cycle time, TAKT time, and work content analysis.
  • Experience writing and implementing work instructions, PFMEA, process validation plan and control plan and all process documentation

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably have experience with PLCs and robotic programming, preferred
  • Preferably have experience working with outside vendors on quote preparation and procuring process improvement equipment
