About The Position

Boeing is seeking aspiring mechanics to join our Assembly Mechanic Apprenticeship program in St. Louis. This program is designed to equip new teammates with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Boeing Defense, Space & Security is delivering advanced solutions to help warfighters solve their toughest challenges. Employees will participate in a full-time, company-sponsored on-the-job training program. The program helps learners develop foundational skills across manufacturing and assembly, leading to a course completion within a skill area. Upon completion, successful candidates will have the chance to convert to a union-represented Assembly Mechanic position. This program is recognized by the Department of Labor (DOL) as an official registered apprenticeship, offering a blend of formal learning, on-the-job experiences, and mentorship, culminating in a nationally-recognized credential from the DOL.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Understanding of intermediate math
  • Basic computer skills
  • Able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Responsibilities

  • Interpreting model-based drawings and blueprints.
  • Following work instructions.
  • Sealant application, fastener layout, drilling, countersinking, fastener installation and removal, trimming of parts (Structures pathway).
  • Wire bundle routing, wire stripping, terminating, wire bundle splicing, solder sleeves, connector build-up, bundle dressing, Fiber optics, RF cable handling, and bonding and grounding of parts (Electrical pathway).
  • Torquing, installing safetying devices, rigging, installation of fluid lines, component installation (Mechanical pathway).
  • Identifying all required hand tools, parts, and equipment to accomplish defect-free work.
  • Ensuring structural integrity and safety.
