About The Position

Boeing is hiring aspiring mechanics for its full-time, company-sponsored Assembly Mechanic Apprenticeship program in St. Louis. The program provides on-the-job training and structured learning experiences to develop foundational manufacturing and assembly skills. Applicants are considered for one of three pathways—Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical—based on their experience and interests. Each pathway is a 15-week cohort program. Structural apprentices learn to interpret model-based drawings and blueprints, follow work instructions, apply sealant, lay out fasteners, drill and countersink, install and remove fasteners, trim parts, and identify the tools, parts, and equipment needed to perform defect-free work while ensuring structural integrity and safety. Electrical apprentices learn to interpret model-based drawings and blueprints, follow work instructions, route wire bundles, strip and terminate wires, splice wire bundles, use solder sleeves, build connectors, dress bundles, handle fiber optics and RF cables, bond and ground parts, and identify the tools, parts, and equipment needed to perform defect-free work while ensuring structural integrity and safety. Mechanical apprentices learn to interpret model-based drawings and blueprints, follow work instructions, torque components, install safe-tying devices, rig, install fluid lines and components, and identify the tools, parts, and equipment needed to perform defect-free work while ensuring structural integrity and safety. The Boeing Technical Apprenticeship Program is a Department of Labor-registered earn-and-learn program combining formal learning, on-the-job experience, and mentorship. Apprentices learn alongside a cohort, with managers and mentors supporting their progress through a personal skills roadmap and hands-on projects. Successful candidates may have the opportunity to convert to a union-represented Assembly Mechanic position after the apprenticeship, where they will continue training and on-the-job learning tailored to a specific program. The program is held at the St. Louis Community College–Florissant Valley campus. Start dates vary by pathway and course schedule; classes may be held on first or second shift, and candidates will be notified of their shift before the course begins. Candidates must be able to work any shift based on operational needs. The position pays $18.00 per hour. Pay is based on experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations. Successful candidates receive a pay increase upon conversion to the Assembly Mechanic position. Relocation assistance is not available; candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense. Candidates must satisfy Boeing's Conflict of Interest assessment process. The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance, for which U.S. citizenship is required; an interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance is required after starting. Boeing will not sponsor employment visas. Post-offer applicants and employees may be subject to drug and alcohol testing under company policy.
