About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Manufacturing and Safety is hiring an Assembly Advisement Workplace Coach (level 4) to support Seattle and Renton paint teams. Successful candidates will be required to work in the Paint Hangars in both Tukwila and Renton, WA. This position is for Shift 3. As the Manufacturing Operations Analyst, you will utilize manufacturing and aircraft painting experience to coach employees. The successful candidate will utilize subject matter expertise to create, solve, and improve projects. You will interact with and support site leadership daily and work with your team to create action plans to address any upskilling needed for the manufacturing teams skillset. You will then create and deploy an upskilling schedule for the manufacturing teammates.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years in a role that requires effective communication with employees, customers, peers and multiple levels of leadership
  • 5+ years of experience with Decorative painting

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule between 2nd and 3rd shift
  • 5+ years’ experience with aircraft paint processes, performing hands-on painting is desired
  • Experience and proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, specifications and templates
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces (solvents/chemical strippers), perform masking and free form painting (including MICA, gradient and blend fades), apply decals, mix/apply coatings at correct viscosity, identify and correct finish defects (sags, orange peel, contaminants), operate/coach on paint equipment
  • Support Boeing Production System continuous improvement, safety, and documentation requirements
  • Analyze and interpret performance and quality data to identify and mitigate the impact of changes on the production system (e.g. CMES, CORRS, PAS, EPES, TMC)
  • Conducts assessments of processes and practices, analyzes and interprets data for improvement opportunities
  • Provides feedback on assessment results and identifies opportunities for improvement and potential areas of risk
  • Analyzes processes and supports Boeing Production System problem solving, develop and document innovative solutions in support of area goals.
  • Assist Manufacturing & Quality managers & team leads with Structured On the Job Training (SOJT) plan
  • Supports training and coaching solutions to improve employee performance
  • Work Place Coaching- Provide Subject Matter Experts for specific Manufacturing & Quality Skills/Disciplines
  • Provides instruction, positive modeling, and opportunities for observation in order to help team members, employees
  • Encourages questions to ensure understanding and when coaching gives timely, appropriate feedback on performance
  • Reinforces efforts and progress
  • Clarifies expected behaviors, knowledge, and level of proficiency by seeking and giving information and checking for understanding
  • Establishes good interpersonal relationships by helping team members, and internal employees feel valued, appreciated, and included in discussions
