About The Position
Premier Packaging is hiring an Assembly 2 team member for its Indianapolis, Indiana location. The role assembles packaging products by following assembly procedures and guidelines, meeting established performance standards, and conducting quality checks. The work also includes handling corrugated materials, maintaining a clean workstation, and coordinating with coworkers and material handlers to support production targets and minimize downtime. The position is full-time on the first shift, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with 40 expected hours per week. Overtime may be needed. Pay is $16.50–$21.42 per hour, paid biweekly.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. alone and up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly instructions, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Basic math skills for counting and measuring.
Responsibilities
- Meet established performance standards for each job, including time-study or pieces-per-hour standards.
- Operate a stitch gun, glue gun, hand bander, heat gun, and bundler.
- Follow assembly procedures and guidelines to assemble products correctly.
- Maintain the workstation and assigned common areas through general housekeeping, including sweeping and disposing of trash.
- Conduct quality checks on assembled products to ensure they meet specified standards.
- Handle and transport corrugated materials within the assembly area.
- Collaborate with forklift operators and other material handlers as needed.
- Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
