About The Position

The assembly technician supports the daily assembly and production functions of Nexus Valve by fitting and assembling parts and fittings—including bodies, balls and handles, keyways, and components in valve assemblies. The role also performs material handling, order fulfillment, inventory, warehouse organization, and related work-area duties.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to stand for long periods, up to 10 hours.

Responsibilities

Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to move, gather, distribute, or ship.
Receive materials and items from receiving or storage areas and move them to shipping or other designated areas.
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined characteristics such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to shipping or a designated route-driver storage area.
Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.
Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocate them to a holding area or shipping department.
Mark materials with identifying information using an appropriate method.
Open bales, crates, and other containers.
Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed using an appropriate computer program.
Assist in counting physical inventory.
Weigh and count items for distribution within the plant to ensure they conform to company standards.
Perform facilities maintenance duties as assigned.
Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
Prepare parcels for mailing.
Sweep, dust, and mop.
Keep the warehouse and work area organized and orderly.
Wear proper safety equipment.
