About The Position

The Assembler assembles products sold at Rural King store locations, including grills, furniture, lawn equipment, and farm equipment. The role also helps assemble and arrange merchandise displays, maintains a safe and clean atmosphere, and assists customers and co-workers. This is physical, non-office work that requires following directions and working independently. Associates may cross-train and assist in other areas, including Maintenance, Shop, and Receiving, and may perform other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Mechanical abilities and experience.
• Ability to learn quickly and follow assembly instructions.
• Ability to interact with a team in a fast-paced environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Ability to access and use the in-store computer, scanning system, and wireless handheld unit.
• Ability to participate remotely in the online applicant and new-hire onboarding process.
• Ability to complete computer-based training.
• Good visual acuity and close vision for computer work.
• Ability to repetitively lift, push, and/or pull at least 30 pounds.
• Ability to use a ladder and/or pallet jack.
• Ability to stand and/or walk for long periods and walk up and down stairs multiple times per day.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all audiences, including professional verbal communication with associates via handheld transceiver and with customers.
• Ability to perform repetitive wrist movements on a keyboard.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products sold at store locations, including grills, furniture, lawn equipment, and farm equipment.
• Assemble and assist with merchandise displays.
• Maintain a safe and clean atmosphere while assisting customers and co-workers.
• Cross-train and assist in other areas as needed, including Maintenance, Shop, and Receiving.
• Use general office equipment, including a telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
• Operate machinery and retail equipment, including a forklift, pallet jack, Telxon gun, and other equipment.
• Follow directions and work independently.
