About The Position

3M is seeking Assembler candidates for its Lexington, KY facility. This full-time position offers an opportunity to join a company with global reach and innovative products. The Assembler will learn and perform basic electronic and/or mechanical assembly tasks, such as mini tubes and extended assemblies, following specific work instructions under direct supervision. This involves using binding materials, potting powder, and small hand tools while working under a microscope to assemble basic training parts of a well-defined nature.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher completed and verified prior to start.
  • Ability to work with small parts under a microscope for extended periods.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of manufacturing, production, or assembly experience.
  • Experience using microscopes in a production or inspection environment.
  • Experience with precision measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers.
  • Experience assembling small or high-precision components.
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints or working in controlled/cleanroom environments.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, including method sheets and blueprints.
  • Basic math skills, including four-function math and working with decimals.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify acceptable vs. non-conforming product.

Responsibilities

  • Complete required training and work closely with experienced operators to develop job proficiency.
  • Read, interpret, and follow method sheets, blueprints, and standard work instructions.
  • Perform assembly operations with minimal supervision while meeting quality and productivity standards.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections to ensure products meet specifications and proper component fit.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with plant standards.
  • Follow all safety policies, wear required PPE, participate in training, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with corporate policies, procedures, and security standards.
  • Contribute to a strong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) culture by following safety policies, identifying hazards, and engaging in continuous improvement.
