About The Position

As an Assembler, you will be responsible for performing assembly work utilizing lean principles (one-piece flow) to produce FDA regulated devices in a controlled collaborative work environment. The shift is from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday, and 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Fridays.

Requirements

  • High school graduate/GED
  • Communication – Ability to read, understand and communicate oral and written instructions in English.
  • Reasoning Ability – Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving parts and equipment variation while maintaining quality expectations. Ability to identify, communicate and trouble shoot problems.
  • Teamwork – ability to work effectively and collaboratively with other employees.
  • Computer Skills – Will be required to enter data at a computer terminal.
  • Mathematical Skills – Basic counting and arithmetic skills required.
  • Ability to adapt to conditions as dictated by business requirements Conforms to policies, procedures, and Code of Conduct as provided in Employee Handbook.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous assembly experience with small or complex assemblies preferred; 1 - 2 years.
  • Ability to perform in-process inspections and testing preferred; 1 – 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Aptitude and ability to read and interpret basic Engineer blueprints and utilize Assembly Instructions (“Standard Work”) to assembly medical device products. Typically joining mechanical and hydraulic components to include some basic electrical wiring.
  • Ability to manage, evaluate, and assemble components or sub-assemblies accurately and efficiently using small hand tools (tape measure, wrenches, screwdrivers, drills, level, torque wrenches, etc.) to align or position components.
  • Ability to work safely in a demanding environment performing task while standing and/or walking for extended periods (70%-100% of the day).
  • Inspects and performs finished product testing to ensure product meets establish Engineering and Quality requirements.
  • Expected to accurately and legibly record in-process and finished product test results on Device History Record (DHR).
  • Identify and report any defects or problems encountered during the assembly process.
  • Ability to troubleshoot simple equipment malfunctions.
  • Demonstrates the ability to clearly communicate, collaborate, and work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to cross-train throughout home department.
