About The Position

Performs a range of electrical, electronic, mechanical, plumbing, and electromechanical assembly operations to build, test, and pack dishwashers. Assists with the production of sub-assemblies and raw in-process manufactured parts used in the assembly process. May assist as general labor in the fabrication department. Follows standard operating procedures, verifies parts inspection sheets, and performs quality checks. Uses various tools and equipment, including hand and portable powered tools, gauges, welding equipment, hoists, and electrical test equipment. Assembles units/sub-assemblies or assists in the production of manufactured parts in the proper sequence. Corrects faults detected through testing, in-process, and quality checks. Prepares units for shipment by trimming and packing. Provides assistance to teammates to ensure product quality, schedule attainment, and an injury-free work environment. Involved in continuous improvement of work functions and supports demand flow/just-in-time manufacturing processes, including KANBAN replenishment and inventory systems. May be required to be licensed to operate a powered industrial lift truck.

Requirements

  • High School/Vocational School Graduate or GED required.
  • Entry Level.
  • Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to learn and practice safety.
  • Ability to be self-directed; team-player.
  • Ability to learn multi-assembly or general labor workstations in multi-production lines or departments.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, quality documents, and Standard Operating Instructions or procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write and understand and practice Lean Principles, Kanban, etc.
  • Ability to perform basic math skills and/or computer skills.
  • Ability to problem solve, deal with concrete variables in standardized situations, and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Understand and perform basic quality checks.
  • Use of basic hand tools (i.e. wrench, hammer, tap, drivers, tape measure).
  • Use of power or air portable tools (i.e. torque tools, hoist, Nailer/stapler).
  • Use of other tools such as: gauges, burring/metal, cleaning equipment, electrical/electronic testing equipment.
  • Regularly required to stand at work area; use fingers, hands and arms and walk frequently.
  • Occasionally must lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year experience in manufacturing environment.
  • 6 months of quality checking or testing of equipment.
  • May be required/licensed to drive an industrial lift truck.

  • Perform operations necessary to trim/pack units for shipment.
  • Provide assistance to other teammates to ensure product quality, schedule attainment, and an injury-free work environment.
  • Be involved in continuous improvement of work functions and support demand flow/just-in-time manufacturing processes.
  • May be required to be licensed to operate a powered industrial lift truck.
