Assembler, 2nd & 3rd Shift
About The Position
The Assembler operates machines or uses manual methods to assemble parts safely and meet production goals. The role requires following work instructions and standard operating procedures, complying with safety and quality standards, and checking that work pieces and finished parts conform to specifications. The Assembler may also train other employees as needed. The position offers either a second-shift schedule of 2:50 p.m.–11:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, or a third-shift schedule of 10:50 p.m.–7:00 a.m., Sunday–Thursday. Availability for Friday nights on third shift or Saturday nights on second shift is required. The role is with Magna Energy Storage Systems Group, which develops and manufactures fuel tank systems and components for heavy-duty trucks and passenger cars, including plug-in hybrids.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; alternatively, two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to lift aluminum tanks weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work either 2:50 p.m.–11:00 p.m. Monday–Friday or 10:50 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Sunday–Thursday.
- Availability to work Friday nights for third shift or Saturday nights for second shift.
Responsibilities
- Assemble parts by safely operating machines or using manual methods to meet production goals.
- Read and follow work instructions and standard operating procedures.
- Comply with safety and quality standards and promptly report deviations.
- Observe machine operation and verify work pieces conform to specifications and dimensions; visually inspect parts for non-conformance.
- Train other employees as needed.
