About The Position

The General Assembly position will assemble manufactured products and pack according to specifications. This role involves assembling machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, appliances, and more according to directions. The assembler will read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation and build to those specifications, using various machines and hand tools. Responsibilities also include maintaining logs, records, and reports concerning production, machine maintenance, and product inconsistencies, as well as maintaining and performing basic repairs on equipment and conveyors. The role requires inventorying tools, parts, and supplies, and contacting materials handlers when needed. Quality control is a key aspect, involving periodic checks of products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion, resolving any identified problems, and alerting supervisors. Additional duties may include tasks related to powder coating, kitting, and other assignments from a supervisor/manager.

Requirements

  • Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, tape measure, calipers, and other shop drawing aids.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively implement or respond to change.
  • Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
  • Safety conscious behavior.
  • Excellent attendance.
  • Ability to work with various types of material handling constraints with guidance.
  • Lift, carry, push and or pull 1 – 50 lbs frequently.
  • Squat/kneel, bend/stoop, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead and outward frequently.
  • Sit, stand and walk for 1 – 10 hours per day.
  • Close mental and visual attention required, coordinating manual dexterity with mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent may be required.
