About The Position

Entry Level Machinist needed to run manual machines. If you are mechanically inclined (automotive, small engines, etc.) this is a great opportunity to begin a career in machining with true opportunities for growth. Now a part of Applied Aerospace & Defense, our small family business started in 1956 and continues to offer new and unique aerospace applications. This role is on first shift (630AM - 3PM).

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Solid math, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly learn production equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Mechanically inclined (automotive, small engines, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts
• Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
• Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly
• Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise
• Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
• Must perform routine maintenance on assigned production equipment, i.e., maintain cleanliness of work area and machinery, check machinery fluids and alert maintenance personnel and/or supervisor of malfunctions.
• Operate lifting and handling equipment such as hand truck, pallet jack, or overhead hoist to maneuver in-process or finished components to desired location.
