Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent
  • 0-2 years related experience
  • Soldering experience preferred
  • Ability to handle/use small tools and components (tweezers, pliers, cutters, soldering iron, ovens, crimpers, screwdrivers, wire cutters, wrenches, vises and continuity testers, oscilloscopes and electrical test equipment)
  • Working under a microscope
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Excellent math skills (algebra)
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to learn and perform mechanical, electrical and swage testing
  • Must be able to follow specific procedures and detailed instructions completely.
  • Ability to lift up 50 lbs.
  • Candidates complete a satisfactory background check and pass a drug screen prior to employment.
  • Successful applicants must be a "US Person" (US Citizens, US Nationals, lawful permanent residents, asylees or refugees).

Responsibilities

  • Reads worksheets and wiring diagrams, selects components, such as integrated circuits, contacts, wires, and connectors.
  • Mold cables assemblies, monitoring temperature, pressure and visual indicators.
  • Remove flash from molded cable assemblies using hand tools.
  • Uses hand and small power tools to place small components in boards, cables, connectors, etc.
  • Inspect parts and performs basic tests.
  • May perform other assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  • May perform work (soldering and general inspection) under microscope.
  • Ensures that quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Records information on production records, logs and other report forms.
  • Provides basic training and instruction to lower-level assemblers on day-to-day assignments.
