About The Position

The job of an Assembler requires a wide range of knowledge and skills across many product lines. Skilled assemblers putting together complex machines read detailed schematics and blueprints that show how to assemble the machine. After determining how parts should connect, they use hand or power tools to trim, shim, cut, and make other adjustments to fit components together. Once the parts are properly aligned, they connect them with bolts and screws, or other means to mate the pieces together.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as an assembler in a production environment preferred
  • Ability to operate a forklift is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and to follow specific written instructions and procedures
  • Position or align components and parts manually or with hand tools
  • Use hand tools or machines to assemble parts
  • Conduct quality control checks
  • Clean and maintain work area, tools, and other equipment
  • Set up and operate machinery
  • Use measuring tools
  • Learn multiple product lines and their assemblies
  • Create good teamwork through proper leadership techniques
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process
  • Understands Cycle Time and Line Balancing Concepts
  • Ensuring safety, quality and productivity standards are met
  • Maintain compliance with the standardized work
  • Observing control points and equipment; Making necessary adjustments as needed
  • Practices good 5S and housekeeping
  • Ability to understand and apply Lean Principles
  • Other duties as assigned
