Requirements

Safely and efficiently build wood crates using blueprints (cut sheets) and power tools to meet customer specifications for quality and on-time delivery.
Log in and out of jobs in the Ops Center (Production software planning system) to track jobs and follow production schedules.
Follow safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
Use of dimensional and electrical power tools and motorized equipment.
Basic computer skills to use Ops Center to log in & out of jobs with employee ID number.

Nice To Haves

3 months of experience in carpentry, construction and/or landscaping.
High School diploma or GED.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

Builds various sized wood crates while safely using power tools (nail and staple guns, power drills, grinders, and hammers).
Uses tape measure to ensure measurements match the cut sheet up to 1/8th inch.
Performs safe ladder use when assembling the tops (caps) of crates.
May need to assemble bases or skids for crates on the ground, requiring use of a 20-pound, 3.5-inch nail gun while crouching and/or kneeling.
Reads, interprets, finds, and documents possible cut sheet and/or stenciling errors.
Uses adhesives to apply foam to wood crates and conducts specification checks.
Efficiently performs work according to standard operating procedures.
Follows all procedures, policies and understands equipment use before use.
Reports equipment defects and/or maintenance needs to supervisor.
Reports any unsafe acts to supervisor.
