About The Position
This is a 3-6 month contract role where your work directly impacts production throughput and product conformance. You will support assembly and test operations to help the team meet customer delivery schedules and maintain quality standards. You will work on-site on 2nd shift (3:00 PM–1:30 AM, Monday–Thursday) with initial training on 1st shift for several weeks. This role offers the opportunity to get your foot in the door at a well-established corporation, with potential for extended or permanent full-time employment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of general mechanical work experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs as needed
- Mechanical aptitude: select appropriate procedures, techniques, tools, and equipment
- Effective interpersonal communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
Responsibilities
- Perform basic mechanical assembly and testing using hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment
- Record test results on data forms and use basic electrical test equipment and flow meters
- Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, and test specifications to produce assemblies that meet product and customer standards
- Participate in lean initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities
- Maintain safety practices and foreign object damage (FOD) free work areas; ensure equipment calibration per schedule
