About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking an Assembler Tester B - 2nd Shift. The core hours are 1:45pm to 11:45pm. The hourly rate for this position is 25.88 + $2.00/hr shift differential per hour. This role involves assembling and testing routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product lines for customers such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus. The position may occasionally involve work on electrical assemblies and soldering, and may require working on unusual tasks where standard methods may not be available. The Assembler Tester B is expected to work with little to no supervision, organize data, prepare test reports, perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate tasks, and conduct visual inspections, identifying and handling defective items according to procedures. The role also includes material preparation such as lapping of surfaces, cross-training, and proactively identifying and assisting in process improvements. Additionally, the position may involve performing acceptance tests on repaired, modified, returned, or production units, determining when Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) are required, and potentially acting as a department representative in customer audits/visits. Testing will be performed using test equipment for in-process and final Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).

Requirements

Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
A minimum of 2 years in assembly within a manufacturing, aerospace, or military environment.
A minimum of 2 years of testing one or more of the following: mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electromechanical assemblies.
Ability to utilize hand tools such as, but not limited to, pliers, wrenches, screwdrivers, arbor press, vises, soldering iron, depth micrometers, calipers, lockwire pliers, dial indicators, pressure gauges, flow meters, multimeters, test boxes or specialized test equipment as needed.
Proficient interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, testing schematics, verbal, and/or written instructions.
Ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
Ability to push, pull and lift up to 25 lbs.
Computer proficiency.
Attention to detail.
Willing to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or national; U.S. lawful, permanent resident; refugee; or asylee).

Nice To Haves

6 years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing
Associates degree in technical field.
Experience working in FAA environment
Working knowledge of shop test equipment and testing procedures and the ability to test a variety of assemblies/sub-assemblies.
Know-how and ability to work with inspection gages, multimeters, force scales, torque wrenches, and production test equipment.
Working knowledge of Eaton production units or similar electromechanical products.
Ability to retain knowledge of units produced.
Ability to cross train on a variety of hardware/sub-assemblies.
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with other departments and organizations.
Ability to accumulate and record data to support process improvement idea(s).

Responsibilities

Assemble and test routine mechanical assemblies, subassemblies, and top assemblies of simple to most complex product line that includes but is not limited to commercial parts for customer such as Boeing, Embraer, Gulfstream, Cessna, and Airbus.
May occasionally work on electrical assemblies and solder.
May also be required to work on unusual work where standard or recognizable methods and processes may not be available.
Organize data and prepare test reports.
Perform lock wire/safety wire and nameplate.
Perform visual inspection, identify any defective items and handle according to established procedures.
Material preparation including lapping of surfaces with proper tooling techniques and compounds.
Perform cross training when required.
Proactively identifies and help assist in process improvements.
May perform acceptance tests on repaired, modified, returned or production units.
Conduct in-person testing as required.
Determine when and if Engineering Change Order (ECO) is required.
May work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering department to implement assembly and test procedures.
May act as department representative in customer audits/visits.
Use test equipment to perform in process testing and final Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs).
