About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Assembler Team Lead to join the Shakes Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 2nd shift. The Team Lead will be performing tasks in the following areas; pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS (Boeing Production System). The candidate must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace, manufacturing, and fabrication
  • 1+ years of Formal or Informal Leadership Experience
  • 1+ years of experience with 787 program operations
  • 1+ years of experience in assembling, repairing, and/or testing mechanical and electrical components and systems
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a fall protection certification
  • Ability to work 2nd shift

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience with aircraft electrical systems
  • 3+ years of Aircraft systems troubleshooting and fault repair
  • 1+ years of experience aircraft interior repair

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools
  • Build effective resource plans
  • Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader
  • Updates and communicates BPS metrics
  • Identify KPI improvement actions
  • Assigns daily work
  • Leads team in daily safety check-in
  • Monitors and reports daily progress to plan.
  • Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk
  • Documents and communicates shift turnover
  • Establishes overtime requirements and staffing
  • Responsible for monitoring and control of 5S
  • Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues
  • Create standardized work instructions
  • Supports teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training.
  • Responsible for BPS process improvements
  • Leads Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks
  • Must maintain Fall Protection Certification
  • Exhibits Boeing behaviors
