About The Position

MSA Safety is seeking an energetic individual to join its Jacksonville, North Carolina team as an Assembler II in a manufacturing environment. The role involves assembling a limited variety of products or subassemblies made from small, light-to-average-weight parts, following standard procedures. The assembler fits and aligns parts to close tolerances and adjusts them to meet operating requirements. The position also includes packaging finished products and other general assembly and material-handling tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

This is a first-shift position scheduled Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The starting pay is $16.65 per hour. The position reports to the Production Supervisor.

Requirements

• Ability to read and write and to comprehend and follow work, quality, and safety instructions.
• Adequate dexterity to reach acceptable levels of efficiency.
• Mechanical skills and ability to use hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds repeatedly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and interact and communicate with employees at all organizational levels.
• No disciplinary action records at or above the written-warning level within the previous twelve months.
• High school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous MSA experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble a limited variety of products or subassemblies from small, light-to-average-weight parts according to standard procedures.
• Fit, align, and adjust parts to close tolerances to meet the operating requirements of the unit.
• Use hand and/or power tools.
• Perform incidental electrical or mechanical connection assembly as needed.
• Refer to drawings, diagrams, or blueprints as guides for assembly tasks.
• Package finished products.
• Perform other general assembly and material-handling tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
