About The Position

The Kitting role coordinates and expedites the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules. The position is in Operations, reports to the Production Supervisor, and is assigned to the third shift. The role involves handling parts and supplies, checking materials, and supporting production needs across workstations. It also requires maintaining a clean, safe, orderly work area and using the safety equipment and apparel required for each operation.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Demonstrated proficiency with handheld tools and other measuring devices.
• Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communication and/or instruction.
• Team-oriented approach and ability to operate as a team player.
• Ability to collaborate, engage others in discussion, and take a hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Ability to learn business processes quickly to manage and serve organizational needs.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to getting things right.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend job orders and bills of materials.
• Arrange delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite the flow of materials and meet production schedules.
• Move totes to tables, check that all parts are complete, move parts to shelves, and make copies of paperwork.
• Confer with department supervisors or other personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes.
• Identify maintenance needs for equipment and tooling.
• Work at different workstations as production needs require.
• Maintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
• Use the proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on the individual's product line or work cell.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
