About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking an Assembler II (1st shift) - Cable Tray at their Reno, NV location. The Assembler II position is primarily focused on assisting and setting up for Welders in the Cable Tray department. The Assembler II will assemble and stack/band Cable Tray ladders. The Assembler II will handle materials and parts up to 50-pounds frequently throughout the shift. This role also supports facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives.

Requirements

  • Consistently lift 50 pounds
  • Able to stand on feet continuously during working shift.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure.
  • Must be able to handle materials up to 50 pounds
  • Require fine manipulation of hands with repetitive motion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Handle materials that pertain to large part construction, weighing 50 pounds multiple times per day.
  • Candidates must reside within 50 miles of the work location to be considered for this position. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience confirming that parts conform to specs using measuring tools.
  • A minimum of 6 months of experience with forming or bending machines
  • A minimum of 6 months of reading drawings or blueprints

Responsibilities

  • Perform simple repetitive assembly of parts and components
  • Use bolts, screws, hand tools, clips and other fastening devices
  • Work under close supervision and may work from models, samples, or simple diagrams
  • Handle 50-pound parts to assist with large part construction
  • Support all facility Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to: Maintain 5-S (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain) throughout shop floor and office areas.
  • Track and sustain all visual management tools such as, but not limited to: layered audits, Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) boards, and any additional LEAN tools that are deemed necessary to provide direction, goals and status to the shop floor.
  • Encourage, support, and actively participate in Kaizen improvements and events throughout the facility, department, and area of responsibility.
