About The Position

Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Welder - 2nd Shift (Fittings/Cable Tray) at our Reno, NV facility! The hourly rate for this position is $28.07 + .50 Shift Differential per hour + $1 per hour shift differential. CORE HOURS: 10PM - 6:30AM (Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times). Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of one year welding experience in a manufacturing environment (MIG/TIG).
  • Must have experience adjusting and troubleshooting welding equipment.
  • Experience identifying defects and measure workpiece to ensure conformance.
  • Ability to weld aluminum and steel
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly with or without reasonable accommodation. Occasionally lift more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
  • Ability to repetitive lift and move small and large products / components with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to accurately measure components and products utilizing tape measures & calipers.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Ability to stand on feet continuously during working shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment as required by company policy and procedure with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with manufacturing fabrication
  • Experience with high volume, fast paced welding

Responsibilities

  • Perform simple repetitive tasks using bolts, screws, clips, hand tools, and other fastening devices.
  • Operate welding units for aluminum and steel; making minor adjustments as needed.
  • Remove excess weld and imperfections using grinders, brushes, chisels, or scrapers.
  • Work under close supervision using models, samples, or engineering drawings.
  • Support Continuous Improvement and LEAN initiatives including, but not limited to 5S and visual mangement tools.
  • Participate in Kaizen events and improvement activities across the facility.
  • Train on material flow, shop orders, BOM and inspection sheets.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprint, and shop drawings accurately.
  • Operate welding units, machinery, and presses safely and proficiently.
  • Identify raw material types and gauges, using measuring tools like tape measures, scales, and calipers.
  • Understand and apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts.
