About The Position

This position is part of Aero Transportation Products (ATP), a business organization part of the Wabtec Corporation, located in McPherson, KS. As a member of the McPherson-based team, you will be responsible for the general assembly of components in accordance with product specifications, engineering drawings, work orders, and quality procedures. You will be cross trained in a variety of tasks, including completing assembly checklists, testing parts, and monitoring stock bins. Your training will also include the use of a variety of hand and pneumatic tools. You will report directly to the Production Supervisor, as well as the Plant Manager.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Possess basic math skills.
Requires a basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Ability to work effectively unsupervised.
Strategic and creative thinking to analyze issues that may arise and create solutions.
Ability to respond positively to feedback and implement change in process and procedures as needed.
Basic math skills
Ability to understand and interpret drawings, BOMs and procedures.

Responsibilities

Assembles components according to blueprints, routers, work orders, checklists, and specifications to build, assemble, and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards in an accurate and timely fashion.
Accurately completes assembly checklists.
Monitors stock bins in work area and reports stock needs to Shop Floor Lead(s).
Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
Adheres to the Wabtec Code of Conduct.
Other duties as assigned.
