About The Position

The Assembler I performs mechanical work building machinery and machinery sub-assemblies using hand and power tools. The work includes mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems, along with other duties as assigned. The position is based in a manufacturing plant and involves handling equipment and components, checking equipment functions, and recording information electronically.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Appropriate basic mechanical skills and aptitude.
Reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including the ability to understand written instructions, maintain production records, and perform routine calculations.
Ability to meet the position’s medium physical demands, including regularly handling items weighing up to 60 pounds from floor to knuckle; pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds; lifting up to 35 pounds from knuckle to shoulder; and lifting up to 25 pounds from shoulder to overhead.
Ability to perform frequent walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing; occasional sitting, twisting, and elevated work; and continuous standing.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints, drawings, production records, written instructions, and technical documents.
Fit, position, and fasten components to build machinery or machinery sub-assemblies using tools such as vises, clamps, wrenches, air-powered tools, and pliers.
Handle components and completed equipment, operate equipment to move it, and check its functions using controls while observing and evaluating performance.
Use a computer to check parts location, inventory, and routing, and record information electronically.
Perform other duties as assigned.
