About The Position

The Assembler I performs mechanical work building machinery and machinery sub-assemblies. The work involves mechanical, hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems and the use of hand and power tools. The employee also performs other duties as assigned.

This is a day-shift position from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Typical starting pay is $19.51 per hour. The work takes place in a manufacturing plant with variable temperature, humidity, noise, and dirt, and involves physical and materials-handling hazards as well as work with hazardous materials.

Requirements

• Have appropriate basic mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Demonstrate reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including the ability to understand written instructions, maintain production records, and perform routine calculations.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Professional mechanical assembly or repair experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings, production records, written instructions, and technical documents.
• Fit, position, and fasten components to build machinery or machinery sub-assemblies using vises, clamps, wrenches, air-powered tools, pliers, and similar tools.
• Handle components and completed equipment, operate equipment to move it, and check its functions using controls while observing and evaluating equipment operation.
• Use a computer to check parts location, inventory, and routing.
• Record information electronically.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
