About The Position

Assembles generator enclosures and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. This role involves using various tools and equipment to assemble functional parts of enclosures and tanks, assisting in the installation of electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment. The assembler will also read bills of material to package parts/kits and study blueprints to determine assembly sequence and setup requirements. Collaboration with team members to troubleshoot issues and maintaining a clean work area are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and understands blueprints and bill of material.
  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, power tools (cordless drills, impact gun, etc.), levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Uses forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, ladders and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.
  • Assists in the assembly and installation of electrical and electronic components (electrical enclosures, transformers, etc. all electrical connections are done by qualified personnel), pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles both small and large sub-assemblies according to prints or drawings.
  • Reads bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine assembly sequence, and setup requirements.
  • Follows work instructions from general description.
  • Works with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues in a satisfactory manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
