About The Position

Assembles generator enclosures and their subassemblies following blueprints and other written and verbal specifications. This role involves reading and understanding blueprints, assembling functional parts using various tools, and assisting with the installation of electrical and mechanical components. The assembler will also be responsible for packaging parts/kits according to customer requirements and troubleshooting mechanical/fit issues with team members. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, as well as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and talk or hear.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and understands blueprints and bill of material.
  • Assembles functional parts of enclosures and tanks using hand tools, power tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straight edges.
  • Uses forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, ladders and other lifting apparatus to aide in the assembly process.
  • Assists in the assembly and installation of electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Assembles both small and large sub-assemblies according to prints or drawings.
  • Reads bill of material to package parts/kits to customer requirements.
  • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine assembly sequence, and setup requirements.
  • Follows work instructions from general description.
  • Works with other team members to troubleshoot mechanical/fit issues in a satisfactory manner.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized.
