About The Position

Publix warehouses use Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS) to store and retrieve items for shipment to stores. ASRS Maintenance Technicians perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on ASRS machines, conveyors, and pallet lifts. They maintain equipment in accordance with Publix policy, government regulations, manufacturer requirements, and their knowledge of ASRS equipment, using meters, laptops, and other test equipment to test, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.

Starting pay depends on the technician’s knowledge and experience, with future increases based on performance. An opening is available at Class A, B, or C level; the class offered depends on the candidate’s qualifications and work experience.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Be able to lift at least 65 pounds.
• Be able to stand, stoop, crouch, kneel, lift, reach, push, and pull.
• Be able to read, write, and solve math problems.
• Successfully complete the Following Written Directions, Computation, Space Visualization, and Mechanical Aptitude tests before the start date.
• Be able to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system schematics, and technical manuals.
• Be able to interpret, understand, and follow instructions.
• Be able to work with little or no supervision and in a fast-paced environment.
• Have basic mechanical and electrical aptitude and strong problem-solving skills.
• Be willing and able to advance safe work habits.
• Be self-motivated.
• Have current industrial maintenance associate experience with ASRS machine systems, conveyor equipment, and pallet lifts.
• Have experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical theory.
• Have experience with three-phase power, A.C. and D.C. power circuits, motor controls, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Have troubleshooting experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical theory, including three-phase power, A.C. and D.C. power circuits, motor controls, and PLCs.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of various electrical and industrial codes.
• Experience supporting a wide range of different conveyors and sorting systems.
• Experience with advanced automation controls systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine repairs on ASRS machines, conveyors, and pallet lifts.
• Maintain equipment according to Publix policy, government regulations, manufacturer requirements, and knowledge of ASRS equipment.
• Use meters, laptops, and other test equipment to test, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment.
• Generate and process work through a computerized maintenance-management system.
• Supply and maintain hand tools needed for daily duties.
• Follow safe work habits.
