About The Position

We are looking for an Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team in Rock Springs, WY. As an Asphalt Plant Operator with Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials, you will be responsible for all site activities in the absence of the Hot Plant Manager. This role involves ensuring the site meets or exceeds MSHA Standards, administering safety principles, and operating the plant safely and efficiently to achieve maximum production and quality products. You will also be responsible for compiling data for various logs, managing daily production and maintenance schedules, and requisitioning parts. Frequent communication with crew members is essential to ensure best operational practices. You will monitor compliance with fugitive dust regulations and conduct daily and monthly plant inspections. Any safety or mechanical issues must be reported immediately. Equipment inspections are mandatory before operation, and equipment must be operated in a safe and efficient manner, with engines turned off when not in use. The operator is responsible for keeping the equipment cab and control house clean and for constantly visually inspecting plant operations. Monitoring feed material quality is crucial for optimal plant performance and product quality.

Requirements

  • 2 years hot plant operation preferred
  • Maintenance logs
  • Production logs
  • Required daily and monthly plant inspections
  • Equipment inspection log to be turned in daily.
  • Do not run equipment without performing the inspection.
  • Equipment is to be operated in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Operator shall not idle equipment when not in use. Turn it off.
  • Equipment Cab and Control House will be kept clean, wiped down and maintained
  • The plant operator shall constantly visually inspect plant operations.
  • Monitor feed material coming from the loader to ensure it will allow for the best performance of the plant and the final products produced will be of the highest quality

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Health and Welfare of the crew and ensuring the site meets or exceeds MSHA Standards
  • Responsible for the administration of the Summit Safety Principles
  • Responsible for the safe operation of the plant
  • Responsible for obtaining the maximum production at the plant
  • Ensure that quality products are being produced within internal and external specifications
  • Compiles all data so that timecards, maintenance logs, production logs, etc., can be completed
  • Daily Production Schedule

  • Parts requisitions from Site Manager
  • Communicate with crew members frequently to ensure best operational practices at the plant
