About The Position

Operates asphalt plant to batch, crush and/or segregate materials used in construction. Assist with assembling, adjusting, maintaining, repairing and disassembling plant equipment as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED.
Basic knowledge regarding the use of computers in plant operation.
Basic mechanical skills to assist with plant maintenance.
Job requires the following motions: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, reaching and squatting.
Walking or standing may occupy the entire day.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Potential exposure to extremes of hot or cold weather.
Overtime work is required.
Valid Driver's License with transportation to and from job sites.

Nice To Haves

Previous Construction / Manufacturing / Plant Operator experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Moves controls to heat, dry, mix ingredients to produce asphalt paving materials.
Control weighing, feeding, crushing and sifting machinery.
Observes gauges, dials and operation of machinery to ensure conformance with specifications.
May repair and/or make adjustments to the machinery.
Uses various hand tools.
Oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.
Yard maintenance.
Travel to and from the different plants.
Monitors the activity within the site.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Perform all other duties deemed necessary or assigned.
