About The Position

Capital Materials is currently seeking Asphalt Plant Laborers / Groundmen to support asphalt plant operations for the 2026 construction season in Jefferson City, Missouri. This role is ideal for dependable, safety-focused individuals who enjoy hands-on work and being part of a team that keeps production running smoothly. Requirements

  • General knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and dependable attendance required.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Welding experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical labor.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of asphalt plant equipment and plant site.
  • Operate skid-steer, dump truck, and various hand tools including shovels, rakes, brooms, and related equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of skid-steer, dump trucks, and other plant assets.
  • Assist drivers with unloading liquid asphalt cement into designated storage tanks.
  • Work closely with plant operators and maintenance personnel to support daily production needs.
  • Assist with minor and major plant repairs as directed.
  • Help maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and plant supplies.
  • Cross-train on additional plant functions and equipment as opportunities arise.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.
