About The Position
The Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor scrubbers and buffers; dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot-cleaning glass and windows. The associate maintains cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms. The associate follows operational, merchandising, health and safety, and loss prevention standards and policies. They are cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, and help respond to front-end coverage needs. The role also involves supporting customer experience practices, communicating with management and associates, participating in store recovery and safety awareness, and performing other duties as assigned. The position is at the TJ Maxx Store 1651 Montehiedra in Puerto Rico. The starting pay range is USD $12.25 to $12.75 per hour; actual starting pay depends on relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care.
- Operate and maintain floor scrubbers and buffers; dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
- Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
- Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor, to support business needs.
- Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
- Uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
- Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
- Follow operational and loss prevention controls and company guidelines, including shrink-reduction practices.
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
- Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including associate meal and break-period policies.
- Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
- Role-model customer experience practices with internal and external customers and support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
