About The Position
ASL Sign Language Interpreter to interpret for a student. This person will foster independence for the student in all settings by supporting social behaviors through total communication access at the student's individual level.
Requirements
- Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree with interpreting as a major emphasis or experience and formal training in interpreting.
- Qualified and/or credentialed educational interpreter both within the general and special education setting.
Responsibilities
- Interpret programs, meetings, mainstream classes and student activities.
- Provide instructions or planning for student.
- Act as a resource person regarding manual communication related issues.
- Exhibit compliance with district regulations, reimbursement requirements, and job responsibilities.
- Demonstrate competence in sign language.
- Other duties as assigned.
