About The Position

This is an independent contractor position offering a flexible work schedule and ongoing opportunities. The interpreter will provide professional interpreting services primarily in healthcare settings. Job sites are mainly in Sacramento, Yolo, and Placer counties, with assignments available on a regular basis depending on demand for specific languages and interpreters’ qualifications.

Requirements

Fluency in American Sign Language and English.
Demonstrated experience providing accurate, complete, and clear interpretation in medical and community settings, with the highest level of fidelity to the original communication.
Strong ability to interpret in American Sign Language and English.
Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
A combination of formal interpreter training and/or relevant professional experience.
Willingness to obtain required medical clearances, including vaccination or immunization records and background checks, as necessary.
A valid California license.

Responsibilities

Provide professional American Sign Language and English interpreting services, primarily in healthcare settings.
Interpret accurately, completely, clearly, and with fidelity to the original communication.
Meet the communication needs of medical professionals, patients, government agencies, community organizations, and internal stakeholders.
