About The Position

HealthPro Pediatrics has an exciting school-based opportunity available for a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Sign Language Interpreter (ASL Interpreter) in Augusta, GA! This is a Full-Time, On-Site W-2 position with hourly rates between $49-$51/hour. Requirements

  • An Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher, or an equivalent skill assessment.
  • Holding a valid certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), such as the NIC (National Interpreter Certification)
  • Must hold or be eligible for a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Clearance Certificate.
  • A bachelor’s degree or beyond in Deaf Education or related field preferred.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and communication devices commonly used in DHH education.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience interpreting for the deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in an educational setting, is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Consult and collaborate with School staff and families in regards to students’ educational deficits
  • Conduct initial screenings as well as comprehensive evaluations
  • Participate in the IEP process in developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for Special Education services
  • Provide Special Education sessions through the use of current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP
  • Maintain all documentation required by the district including, but not limited to, notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEP’s
