About The Position
We are looking for a caring, fun, and experienced ASL Instructor. The class focuses on teaching the basics of American Sign Language, including alphabets & numbers, American Deaf culture & history, ASL communication skills (receptive and expressive), and practicing vocabulary in conversation. This is a part-time, in-person position.
Requirements
- 1 year of ASL Teaching experience
- Ability to commute to Springfield, VA 22153
Responsibilities
- Teach the basics of American Sign Language
- Teach alphabets & numbers
- Teach American Deaf culture & history
- Teach ASL communication skills - receptive (listening) and expressive (speaking)
- Facilitate practice using vocabulary in conversation
