About The Position

The Cliffs Hotel & Spa is seeking a full-time, efficient, optimistic, and motivated Laundry Attendant who can create a sense of luxury while ensuring linens are cleaned. The Laundry Attendant will perform routine tasks in the cleaning and maintenance of hotel linens, including washing, drying, folding, and storing all linens. This role is crucial in maintaining the hotel's standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction, contributing to the creation of happy and lasting memories for guests. Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Working knowledge of customer service in a luxury hotel.
  • Good command of the English language.
  • Ability to work effectively with people in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask and work in mentally demanding situations.
  • Requires grasping, turning, writing, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, walking, repetitive motion, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to stand continuously throughout the shift (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to work in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Handles washers and dryers to clean linens, towels, and other articles.
  • Inspects all laundered articles for cleanliness and serviceability.
  • Reports any unusable articles to management for repair or replacement.
  • Folds and properly stores clean linens on designated shelves.
  • Assists in performing monthly inventory counts as scheduled by management.
  • Routes and delivers clean linens to other Attendants or Inspectors as directed by management.
  • Reports any mechanical issues in the laundry to Engineering and the Manager on Duty.
  • Utilizes all chemicals according to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) directions and with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Communicates in a friendly and professional manner with customers, management, and co-workers.
  • Attends staff meetings and training sessions as scheduled.
  • Fully and consistently complies with all hotel working conditions and standards for uniform, personal care, and safety measures.
  • Takes precautions to prevent injuries by following all safety training and company protocols.
  • Understands that business needs may sometimes require employees to be transferred from their usual shift to other shifts.
  • Assists in other areas of the department as needed.
  • Completes all other duties as assigned by the manager.
