About The Position

Michael Foods, Inc. located in the Village of West Jefferson, OH, is producing high quality protein shakes serving people all around the world. This position will work a 12-hour night shift of 6pm-630am. The qualified candidate in this role will adhere to safe work practices, policies, and procedures. They will follow Good Manufacturing Practices, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained. They will report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect employee safety or food safety/quality to management immediately. This role involves operating, cleaning, assisting in preventive maintenance (PM) in accordance with PM schedule, and troubleshooting filler machines and other equipment when needed. The operator will follow all SOP’s for production and sanitation, and proactively plan and lead changeover activities for fillers and date coding, making sure the appropriate supervisor is aware of the resources (mechanics, materials), and communications needed, escalating issues when problems arise. The operator will ensure the line is operating at maximum efficiency and managing the equipment to best minimize packaging and product losses. They will ensure daily production goals (KPI’s) are met for the Filler area and maintain active communication with Pasteurizer Operators and Packaging Department to ensure efficient operation. The role requires active engagement in continuous improvement efforts, conducting and recording all quality checks and downtime events in a timely fashion utilizing Redzone. The operator will demonstrate proper handling and usage of cleaning agents while wearing the required PPE, and operate motorized material handling equipment. They will alert supervisors when major mechanical problems occur and report any system abnormalities to reduce the risk of, and damage to, the system or product. This role also involves resupplying chemical drums and jugs as needed to maintain proper sanitation, managing inventory consumptions or creation in inventory management system, and testing and monitoring chemical titrations to ensure in spec for proper cleaning. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • 2 + years of experience operating machinery, and handling GMP’s and product specifications
  • SPC (weight control)

Nice To Haves

  • 2 + years’ experience operating high speed complex filling equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with food manufacturing and GMPs.
