About The Position

Meirowitz & Wasserberg, LLP, a trial law firm dedicated to helping injured people, is seeking an experienced Asbestos Paralegal for its Midtown Manhattan office. This full-time, in-office position requires 5 days per week. The role involves assisting attorneys with asbestos litigation, including document preparation, case file organization, deadline management, client interaction, legal research, and administrative tasks.

Requirements

2+ year of experience as a Personal Injury paralegal.
Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

1+ year of experience as an Asbestos Litigation Paralegal.
1+ year of experience using Smart Advocate.

Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as complaints, service lists, motions, and discovery requests/responses related to asbestos cases.
Organize and maintain case files, ensuring all documents and evidence are properly indexed and accessible in Smart Advocate.
Monitor the docket and make sure all filing deadlines are met.
Interact with clients to gather information, provide updates on case progress, and assist in answering their questions and concerns.
Conduct legal research to support attorneys in asbestos-related personal injury cases, including gathering information on asbestos-containing products, exposure sources, and relevant laws and regulations.
Perform some administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars and handling correspondence related to asbestos cases.
