About The Position

The Arts Center Production Specialist coordinates technical operations for performances and events held at the Performing Arts Center. The role organizes and executes event production, provides onsite management for performances and other programs, and prepares the facility and equipment for scheduled activities. It also involves customer service, coordination with vendors and subcontractors, equipment operation and maintenance, and support for facility planning and management projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Additional vocational training in theater or the performing arts.
• Two years of experience in theatrical production, set design and construction, sound and lighting, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Organize, plan, and execute the technical aspects of events held at the Performing Arts Center.
• Provide onsite management for performances, special events, community programs, and meetings, including practice and rehearsal setup and breakdown.
• Prepare the Performing Arts Center for events with appropriate equipment, seating, tables, risers, and sound and lighting systems.
• Provide professional customer service and coordinate events with subcontractors to support technical success.
• Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with contract terms, including work details, delivery of materials or services, and event-specific conditions and standards.
• Operate audiovisual and sound equipment for events.
• Maintain and secure stage and media equipment, troubleshoot problems, and arrange outside maintenance for malfunctions.
• Attend weekly meetings with the Arts Center Manager to review the event schedule and general facility needs.
• Meet with members of the public and community groups to plan and discuss new programs and activities.
• Assist management with reports, presentations, and special projects.
