About The Position

This role works under the Art Services Manager to manage the quality of the Art Team's daily work, ensuring production deadlines are met for reviewing artwork, proofing, and delivering jobs to the print room. The position requires ensuring the quality of files is approved by customers and adheres to Orbus artwork guidelines, accurately color-matching and correcting projects per client specifications, and ensuring instruction sheets for the print and finishing team are accurate and follow detailed procedures. A high level of customer service is expected. The supervisor will delegate daily workload, maintain organization of graphic servers and job folders, assist with color matching questions, and sign off on running internal proofs. They will also work on internal Marketing Tradeshow company projects alongside Senior Art Coordinators and handle more custom/complex jobs with Art Coordinators as needed. The role involves assisting in the hiring process by conducting first interviews and tests, and helping prepare employee performance reviews with the Art Services Manager. Additionally, the supervisor will create documentation for training, including holding training sessions, updating procedures and SOPs, maintaining templates, and developing new training methods. They will conduct weekly motivational meetings, recognize training needs, and create new product templates for clients and internal use.

Requirements

  • Management experience with a small to medium sized team (5-20 people)
  • 3 -5 years experience working in a production and/or pre-production environment
  • College BA degree in Graphic Arts/Design or similar
  • Solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office
  • Solid knowledge of Pantone Color Matching System
  • Working knowledge of MAC and PC computer platforms
  • Performs good preflight Adobe Creative Stuff test
  • Performs good quality color matching test

  • Maintains organization of the Graphic Servers and job folders
  • Assists with color matching questions & signs-off on running internal proofs
  • Works on internal Marketing Tradeshow company projects along with Senior Art Coordinators
  • Works on more custom/complex jobs with Art Coordinators as needed
  • Assists in the hiring process by conducting 1st interviews & tests
  • Helps prepare employee performance reviews with Art Services Manager
  • Creates documentation for training: Holds training sessions with the Art Team and/or new hires
  • Updates and maintains all training procedures and SOPs
  • Updates and maintains organization of templates on the server
  • Works with Art Services Manager to develop new training methods as needed
  • Conducts weekly motivational meetings with the team to discuss successes, areas for improvement, changes in the dept., reviews “Service Plus” jobs for hands-on learning, etc.
  • Recognizes when team members require further training & determines action plan
  • Creates all new product templates for clients as well as internal use
