About The Position

Skydance Animation is looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to manage and schedule both the day-to-day needs and long-term goals of the Art department as it transitions into Production. They report to the Production Manager of the film. The ideal candidate is a proactive and positive team-player with the ability to multi-task amongst shifting priorities; they are an experienced leader who can motivate a team within a constantly changing environment. Please note - office location is based in Stamford, CT.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in production management for animation, strong working knowledge of Art department needs and how it transitions to CG production
  • Previous experience seeing through an animated feature as a Supervisor for design
  • Extensive experience using ShotGrid or comparable tracking software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suites; Photoshop experience a plus
  • Strong managerial expertise leading a team within a professional, fast-paced environment
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail, organizational and follow-through skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while maintaining proactive communication across teams and departments
  • Proactivity in anticipating, identifying, and ultimately solving issues alongside Production Manager
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interface with all levels of staff and management effectively and efficiently through strong written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

  • Strategically partner and iterate with Producer and Production Manager on overall scheduling and allocated labor weeks for designated department(s); ideally including creation and maintenance of schedule(s)
  • Support Production Manager in forecasting weekly quotas, department milestones, inventory changes; understand how day-to-day shifts may affect labor weeks, scheduling, overtime
  • Collaborate with Production Designer to cast assignments, monitor artist progress and workload
  • Proactively flag inventory issues and communicate status of work and assignments to Production Manager
  • Support Production Coordinator in check-ins with artists; identifying material that are ready to be reviewed by Director
  • Support Production Designer in check-ins with artists; responsible for accurate notes and communication of action items or changes to the necessary departments
  • Maintain continuous awareness of upstream and downstream departments statuses and needs to ensure milestones are being met
  • Establish and maintain ShotGrid with accurate statuses
  • Regularly sync with colleagues in Los Angeles and Madrid; confirm cross-site deliver schedules, communicate relevant feedback, and strategize deadlines
  • Create and maintain department reports to document workflows, project scenarios, and communicate progress upward to Production Manager and Producer
  • Support and mentor Production Coordinators and Production Assistants, finding opportunities for growth and development
  • Review and approve weekly time sheets for Los Angeles artists
  • Maintain crew moral by fostering a creative and inclusive working environment, supporting team interpersonal communication, and discussing real-time feedback; under the direction and guidance of production and/or studio leadership as necessary
