About The Position

bioMérieux is seeking an Array Manufacturing Specialist for a 6-month VIE assignment, involving an immersive experience in Salt Lake City, USA, followed by a contribution to the deployment of activities at the new BIOFIRE® production facility in La Balme-les-Grottes, France. This role is part of an ambitious international project to replicate US expertise in France and build the industrial future of bioMérieux. The specialist will learn and operate automated production lines, understand machine behavior, follow procedures, and support technical activities, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. The assignment includes training in Salt Lake City to develop skills for transferring activities to France, followed by returning to France to train and support French teams, contribute to industrial transfer, and develop operational standards.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years Degree or Master’s degree / General Engineering degree, with a focus on Industrial Engineering
  • Ideally initial experience of at least 2–3 years in an automated production environment (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or equivalent)
  • Strong technical curiosity and willingness to develop hands-on, practical experience in real-life situations
  • Multidisciplinary technical knowledge (production line operation, mechanics, troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment)
  • Intermediate level of English, both written and spoken (minimum B1)
  • Fluent French

Responsibilities

  • Learn and operate automated production lines, including micro-filling and specialized equipment
  • Understand machine behavior, process variability, and production constraints
  • Strictly follow production procedures, technical documentation, and quality standards
  • Work closely with operators and technicians to ensure safe and efficient operations
  • Contribute to understanding the complete production system (equipment + process)
  • Shadow and support Team Leads on troubleshooting, workflow organization, and production coordination
  • Work with technical experts on equipment analysis, process improvement, and validation and ramp-up activities
  • Support the creation and update of operating procedures, work instructions, and training materials
  • Participate in performance monitoring (OEE), root cause analysis, and quality event investigations
  • Train on the processes, methods, and standards used at the U.S. site during the immersion period
  • Develop the skills required to support the transfer of activities to France
  • Build expertise alongside American teams
  • Prepare the transfer of knowledge to French teams
  • Contribute to the deployment of activities at the La Balme-les-Grottes site upon return to France
  • Train and support French teams
  • Support industrial transfer activities and project ramp-up
  • Contribute to the development of future operational standards
