About The Position

This role serves as a Senior Planner and Global Force Management specialist supporting the Army National Guard (ARNG). The specialist will maintain visibility on the readiness of ARNG units and must possess a thorough understanding of Department of Defense (DoD) readiness policy and regulations. Key responsibilities include accurately inputting, updating, and confirming data in the Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN) Synchronization Toolset (AST) regarding training events, exercises, sourcing notifications, and scheduled deployments. The role involves performing technical assessments and evaluations based on the review and analysis of resourcing ARNG units through the force generation cycle, reviewing contingency plans for potential ARNG requirements, and verifying the accuracy of ARNG Force Structure and Force Generation Cycles. The specialist will also review and provide recommendations on the unit readiness cycle, develop Readiness Plans requiring analytical and strategic planning capabilities, and support the ARNG training division in planning and executing strategies for individual, collective, and pre-mobilization training to ensure readiness for Federal and State Missions.

Requirements

  • Must have a Secret Security Clearance
  • Must have a bachelor's degree
  • 7 plus years of experience in the area(s) of expertise required
  • Understanding and functional comprehension of military force structure, manning, sourcing, planning and decision-making processes
  • Able to interpret and communicate military issues at the strategic and operational levels
  • Exceptional writing, presentation and briefing skills required
  • Skilled in scheduling, coordinating and managing day-to-day operations
  • Ability to manage client expectations and monitor quality and timeliness

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to ARNG Readiness efforts, managing readiness as a resource through sustainment or responsibility consuming readiness built.
  • Use current information technology to record, track, coordinate, manage, retrieve, and promulgate data and other associated information.
  • Analyze Army Regulations, the Army Campaign Plan, ARNG force generation model, and all other similar documents to assess impact to ARNG G3 operational readiness.
  • Propose data to decision makers and subsequently captured in ARNG readiness strategy.
  • Perform technical assessments and evaluations based on review and analysis of resourcing ARNG units through the force generation cycle.
  • Input, update, and confirm the accuracy of data in the Army Force Generation (ARFORGEN) Synchronization Toolset (AST) with accurate information on training events, exercises, notification of sourcing and scheduled deployments.
  • Review contingency plans to discern potential contingency requirements for ARNG.
  • Review accuracy of ARNG Force Structure.
  • Verify accuracy of Force Generation Cycles for all Army National Guard Force.
  • Review and provide recommendations on the unit readiness cycle.
  • Develop Readiness Plans requiring a wide range of analytical, strategic planning and programming capabilities.
  • Verify weekly accuracy of Force Generation Cycles for all Army National Guard Force.
  • Support ARNG training division in planning, developing, and executing strategies, programs, and resources for individual, collective and pre-mobilization training to achieve readiness for executing Army National Guard’s Federal and State Missions.
