As a Security Officer Office Building in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Requirements
- Possess at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, or corrections experience.
- Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Nice To Haves
- A valid firearms permit is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and government facility personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials for authorized personnel, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with established procedures.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, transit-adjacent locations, parking areas, and perimeter boundaries to help to deter unauthorized activity.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and public agencies as required.
- Prepare accurate reports and maintain required logs regarding patrols, incidents, unusual conditions, and security-related activities.
