About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer for a retail location in Seattle, Washington. The officer will safeguard clients, shoppers, and store personnel through routine armed patrols and a visible presence, helping deter security-related incidents and support a welcoming environment. The role involves responding professionally to incidents and emergencies, providing customer service and communication, and representing Allied Universal’s values.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Applicants are subject to a background investigation in accordance with applicable laws.
• Applicants are subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements depend on state and local laws and may need to be met before employment.
• A valid driver's license is required for driving positions only.

Nice To Haves

• Experience using handcuffs, pepper spray, and a baton.
• An armed guard card or license.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet.
• A valid firearms permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store personnel by following site-specific procedures and policies and, when appropriate, carrying out emergency response activities.
• Respond calmly and use problem-solving skills during incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations; contact appropriate personnel or emergency services as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of retail locations, parking areas, loading areas, and perimeter spaces to deter unauthorized activity and identify security concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity for unusual behavior, policy violations, or potential loss-prevention concerns.
• Prepare clear and accurate reports of incidents, observations, and actions taken in accordance with company and site procedures.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
