As an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a government corrections location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns. This driving post requires an armed guard card/license and a valid driver’s license. You will provide professional communication and customer service while demonstrating Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, caring, and integrity.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
  • A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government correctional environment.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned facilities, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual conditions, unauthorized activity, and/or policy concerns.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and coordinating with appropriate personnel and emergency responders.
  • Monitor access to assigned areas, verify authorization as required, and document visitor activity, incidents, observations, and/or shift information in accordance with site requirements.
  • Maintain professional readiness and comply with applicable laws, licensing requirements, armed post procedures, and Allied Universal policies.
